Wado Ryu Karate-do

Wado Ryu is one of the four major Japanese Karate styles and was founded by Hironori Ōtsuka in 1929.

It places emphasis on not only striking and blocking techniques, but evasive body moves, joint locks, take-downs and throws.

It has its origins within Tomari-te Karate, but was also influenced by Shotokan Karate and Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujutsu.
